How One Hartlepool Restaurant Used Stress Balls to Promote Themselves – A True Case Study
Ted Hoit, a restaurant owner in Hartlepool North East England was looking for a new way to promote his restaurant to businesses. His restaurant was always packed people in the evening but lunch time was a bit slow. He wanted to find a fun way to get the many business people in the area to start coming to his restaurant during the day for lunch.
His restaurant specialises in fish and burgers. He contacted a local promotional gift supplier and asked if promotional stress relievers were available in such shapes. As stressballs are available in hundreds of different shapes it was not a problem. He order 250 burger shapes, 100 fish shapes and 100 in the stress toys in the shape of a bag of chips and printed them with his restaurant logo and details.
When the stress balls arrived a couple of weeks later, he visited each of the offices within walking distance of his restaurant and offered the everyone a choice of stress ball shape. He also took a copy of his menu around to tease them with his excellent selection of popular lunch items. This also helped drive home the message he was trying to promote with the stress balls.
The marketing campaign was a success. Ted has since ordered many more stress balls which he gives away to visitors to his restaurant in the evenings. He has also started going further a field, visiting many businesses within a short drive of his restaurant and giving them the popular personalised promotional stress balls. In fact, he is getting quite a name for himself as everyone loves a stress toy.
